Markus is the CRO of Munich Re Group and is heading the central division “Integrated Risk Management”. Prior to his current position he was heading the Group Actuarial Function and was responsible for the internal model of Munich Re. Before that Markus assumed different roles in the quantitative and qualitative risk management of the company. He holds a PhD in theoretical physics and started his career in the banking industry.

Franz is a Director in KPMG’s Financial Services team in Germany specializing in market and counterparty credit risk modelling and management. Since he joined KPMG in 2009, he has gained exhaustive experience in consulting banks in methodological topics, derivative valuation and risk models, model validation, regulatory requirements related to market and counterparty credit risk and system architecture including the management of large implementation projects and regulatory audits.

Tim Friederich is Head of risklab, the expert team for investment and risk solutions of Allianz Global Investors. In this role, Tim is responsible for AllianzGI’s global advisory function offering tailored advice and customized risk-management solutions to clients.
Before taking over this position in January 2020, Tim was a director and business manager with Allianz Global Investor’s Global Distribution Management team. Between 2013 and 2018, he was a senior strategist in the US Client Advisory team. Before this, Tim worked with risklab in Munich where he was responsible for developing risk- management and defined-contribution strategies. He also served as an investment advisor for client mandates. He started his career in the investment industry in 2009.
Tim Friederich has an M.S. in finance and information management from the Technical University of Munich and the University of Augsburg, Germany. He is a CFA charterholder.

Dr. Maximilian Happacher is member of the Executive Board at ERGO International AG since 2018. Previously he has been member of the Executive Board at ERGO Lebensversicherung AG, Victoria
Lebensversicherung AG, ERGO Pensionskasse AG and Allianz Pensionskasse AG. He has also been in leading positions in Allianz Deutschland AG, Allianz SE and Allianz Lebensversicherung AG. He studied Business Mathematics at University of Augsburg and he holds a Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics from University of Augsburg.
Robert is a Specialist in KPMG’s Financial Services team in Germany. He advises banks on quantitative risk management, in particular in the areas of liquidity risk, interest rate risk, credit risk and stress testing. His recent project involvements include conceptual work on regulatory and economic liquidity risk metrics, implementation of Net Interest Income simulations, support in the EU-wide stress tests conducted by the EBA and ECB, and calculation of credit risk provisions under IFRS 9.
Before joining KPMG in 2015, Robert did a PhD in probability theory at the Mathematical Institute of the LMU. He studied Mathematics at the LMU in Munich and at New College in Oxford, and holds an FRM designation from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
